 JESUS IS LORD OVER 2015!

Word for the Body of Christ: "I AM YOUR GUARDIAN"

Received: Gerri Merrick

"Those who listen and watch and wait shall know for certain...
I AM YOUR GUARDIAN!
I have said it before and it stands forever...I AM your GOD!
Nothing is impossible for ME!
I AM your Eternal God and Creator!
Now you are seeing why only FAITH pleases ME!
This is the Pathway made open for Our Partnership!
This is the Door wide open for Our Fellowship!
This is the Window of escape from the darkness!
LIGHT and TRUTH can flood into your life...FAITH!
Have I not said that I AM your high tower?
Have I not proclaimed freedom in ME?
Have I not defeated ALL of the works and powers set against you?
Have I ever disappointed you or left your side?
Have I not stood faithful to the Word of My Power?
So what is going on....all around you?
What is making so many of my Sheep tremble and be scattered?
Why will my people not bend their knees and trust ME to deliver them?
They are living divided lives of loyalty...the world, the flesh and the devil!
Only defeat and despair shall be born!
Only LOVE for ME shall be counted!
But You who do know I AM....seek ME more than ever before!
Make My Word become your very Bread of Life!
Let the Water from the Holy Spirit soak into your entire existence!
Do not be deceived with the 'soft times and clever devices' of the world!
Suddenly, things can change in an instant and those not ready shall fall!
Yes, the times are evil!
Yes, there is much depravity in the hearts of men!
Yes, you clearly see and know the nature of evil...warring against ME!
Yes, there are many who will not turn to listen!
Yes, I will never stop hunting for the Lost Lambs!
You are with ME as your faith is with ME!
There shall not be a Dividing Line as We march forward together!
I AM YOUR SAFE PLACE! I AM YOUR GUARDIAN!
You have nothing to fear or dread! Trust ME!
I AM HERE! I AM NEAR! I AM YOUR GUARDIAN!"

4 Ways We Draw Close To God

Christians draw close to God when…

1) Through Christ, we turn from sin to His grace, for forgiveness and mercy.

God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved). Now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:4-5, 13)
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14,16)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29)

2) We come to Him in prayer and lift up praises to Him.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:6-7)
Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. (Psalm 147:1)
I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. (Ephesians 3:17-18)

3) We read, trust and apply His Word daily.

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.(Jam 1:22)
You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word. (Psalm 119:114)

4) In faith we lay hold of His promises and live in His strength.

Abraham did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. (Romans 4:20-21)
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises. (2 Peter 1:3-4)

The Jewish Feasts

The Feast of Tabernacles (Booths)

Sukkoth

Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath. And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God” (Lev. 23:29-43)
The Feast of Tabernacles, also called Booths, comes on the fifteenth of Tishri (September-October), the seventh month according to the Jewish (biblical) calendar. This was the third feast that required a pilgrimage to Jerusalem to worship in the Temple and offer sacrifices and offering to the Lord.
“Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty: Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee” (Deut. 16:16-17).
This is Israel’s Thanksgiving feast in which they acknowledge the Fall harvest and God’s provision for them. It is happy celebration and a time of joy and rejoicing.
This feast also remembers Israel’s deliverance from Egypt and their subsequent wandering in the wilderness for forty years. During this time Israel lived in tents and worshiped at the Tabernacle which was also a tent. To remember this time the Jews build small tabernacles or booths which walls of plaited branches and thatched roofs as God instructed in Leviticus 23:42. Today to fulfill the commandment, sekhakh (booth) is still constructed. It must be made of something that grew from the ground and was cut off, such as tree branches, corn stalks, bamboo reeds, sticks, or two-by-fours and constructed so it will not blow away in the wind. The Sekhakh roof must be left loose, not tied together or tied down. Sekhakh must be placed sparsely enough that rain can get in, and preferably sparsely enough that the stars can be seen, but not so sparsely that more than ten inches is open at any point or that there is more light than shade.
For seven days they were to live in these booths as a vivid reminder of the days in the wilderness living in tents. Further when the came to the Temple they would be carrying an etrog, which was a citrus fruit, which symbolized the fruit of the Promised Land. The Jews also used a lulaw, which was made of the branches of palm trees, myrtles and willows tied together with a golden thread. During the celebration in the Temple these lulaw would be waved at certain times during the service.

The Sekhakh (booth)                                                              Inside the Sekhakh
While standing, the person picks up the lulav with its attached willows and myrtle in his right hand, holding the lulav so that its spine is toward them. The etrog is picked up in the left hand, next to the lulav, with its tip (pitom) pointing down. The blessings are said: “Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us by His commandments, and instructed us concerning the waving of the palm branch.” Then the shehekeyanu is said: “Blessed are You, O Lord our God, King of the universe, for keeping us in life, for sustaining us, and for helping us reach this day.” The etrog is then turned right side up and shaken with the lulav. Each day of the Feast of Tabernacles, the people in the Temple courtyard would hold their lulavs and make a circular procession around the altar. During the procession they would pray a prayer that came to be known as Hoshanos. It is a prayer for God’s blessing, ending each phrase of the prayer with the word hoshana (“Please save” or “save now!”). On the first six days they would march around the altar one time. On the seventh day they marched around it seven times. Traditionally, Psalm 27 is recited at the service of the Feast of Tabernacles. Bible prophecy tells us that people from the nations of the world will come up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with the Jewish people in Jerusalem.
“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain” (Zech. 14:16-17).
During the Millennium Kingdom when Christ will rule for a thousand years from His throne in Jerusalem all the nations of the earth will be commanded to come and celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. If they refuse to come, which means that they are not trusting in the Lord for their substance and living. Therefore the Lord will withhold rain from their nation as punishment and the natural result of refusing God’s provision. Further it also pictures that God will not pour out the Holy Spirit on those who refuse His offer of salvation, who are invited to come and receive freely His mercy and grace.
According to God’s instructions on the first day of the feast thirteen bullocks were offered and each day that followed on less bullock was offered which meant that seventy were offered. Two things characterized the Feast of Tabernacle from the other feasts. One was the illumination of the Temple and the other the pouring of a vessel of water into a basin that was located at the base of the altar. First the golden vessel of water was filled at the pool of Sloam and taken to the altar. Next another golden vessel would be filled with wine and they both would be poured together into the basin. The mixed water and wine would flow down a conduit which carried the water to the Brook of Kidron located across from the eastern wall.
This was ritual symbolized the prayer for the Fall rains upon which Israel depended. Second it pictured the coming of the Messiah and His kingdom in which the Holy Spirit would be poured on Israel and believers of all nations. This ritual of water pouring was continued for six days and concluded the Feast of Tabernacles. This last day was called the “Day of the Great Hosanan” (Hoshannah Rabbah). The word “Hoshannah” means to “save now.” and applied to the feast became “Hosanna” which looked forward to the coming of the Messiah.
This makes the event of Jesus entering the city in what is called the ‘Triumphant Entry” come alive for us as we under its significance. John records in John 12:13 that as Jesus entered Jerusalem the people. “ Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.” They were crying “Save us, Son of David.” Matthew 21:15 records the chief priest and scribes became gravely upset because this greeting and prayer was reserved only for the coming of the Messiah. Mark records that the people also cried “Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.” (Mark 11:10).
Following His entry into Jerusalem Jesus went to the Temple and proclaimed “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38-39). The words “In the last day” means that this event occurred on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles.
Another feature of the feast is was illumination of the Temple. The pilgrims who came to the Temple would bring lights and torches. Further the golden lamps stands would also be lighted illuminating the Temple. This too prophetically looked forward to the coming of the Messiah. Jesus the Messiah identified Himself as that saving light in John 8:12 saying “ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Paul when he arrived in Antioch in Pisidia (Asia) proclaim this truth to the Jews there saying, “For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth” (Acts 13:47). Paul preached that he was sent to take this light, which was the Gospel of Jesus Christ, unto all the world.

Word for the Believers In Christ: "TELL ME"

Received: Gerri Merrick

"Can anything be too hard for Your GOD?
Is there anything hidden from Your GOD?
Will anyone created escape from My sight?
Are there mysteries unsolved by Your GOD?

TELL ME!

Have any moments of your life slipped by?
Can you recall when I was not there?
Have your tears and pain gone unnoticed?
When has My love stopped flowing?

TELL ME!

What moments have not been recorded?
How can you not see Me on the scene?
What is more powerful than Your Creator GOD?
Has My Mercy and Grace ever failed you?

TELL ME!

Come! Tell ME! Stop and speak to ME!
Come! Take time to unburden your heart!
Come! Draw away from the world and Tell ME!
Come! Be honest and become One with ME!

TELL ME!"

UnConditional Love?

A Critical Review of a Pop Religious Truism
Scripture clearly teaches that God's love (phileo, agape, aheb, ahabah, etc.) is unfailing, undeserved, and unilateral (completely one-sided in initiation). But is God's love without condition--I.E.: UN-conditional? On this we should consider three things: 1) Where did this idea come from? 2) Is it consistent with Scripture? and 3) Could this be a modern packaging of the age old message of false prophecy?
On 1), the words unconditional and love are not used in Scripture in either the Old or New Testaments, nor do any of the church fathers use the phrase. Readers have pointed out that it was first used in 1751 in negative reference to the Moravian heresy (hat tip: Devin R.), and more recently by Erich Fromm in the 1930s to describe the matricentric complex (vs. patricentric; hat tip: Mark Long). But these are arcane references.
The phrase unconditional love entered mainstream, pop-culture English during the 1960s LSD drug culture. What the flower-children originally meant by unconditional love had to do with "love the one you are with" in the sexual revolution sense. But the phrase did not last long even among the hippies because it is inherently contradictory: to love is to care deeply about the condition of the one loved. But "under the influence" a lot of things made sense that didn't later. After the drugs wore off, psychology flirted with the pop-phrase in the 1970's in the "transactional analysis" fad, but this was ephemeral and quickly dropped from view. Just about then a few susceptible christian teachers stepped in and took the baton, and the rest is history.
With this dubious modern pedigree we must ask the obvious question: is this an idea that comes from above, or from below? (John 8:23)
On 2), is the implicit idea that the phrase asserts consistent with Scripture? If we take the phrase in its plain-sense meaning, certainly not. If unconditional can cohabit the same phrase as love without canceling it (when not on LSD, that is), then why did Jesus bother declaring the conditions? "You must be born again." etc.
Think about it. In a typical teaching of Jesus, much of what he said were the life-giving conditions of moving out-of a position of wrath and into a loving relationship with the Father. The catch-phrase unconditional love strips these words right out of our Savior's mouth. "Hey Jesus, you can't say that! Don't you know that God's agape love is unconditional!"

John 8:31-32 (NIV) ...Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
Get it? IF/THEN is a condition. So is UNLESS. And this is the kind of thing Jesus often said. Uh Oh!
On 3), we should consider the possibility that this new phrase might be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Could unconditional love be Satan's latest repackaging of the "peace, peace" message that has always been the essence of false prophecy? Of course, Satan would never be that clever, to deny the very words of God with a subtle twist of phrase? Would he?
Because of a Bible Study on our site which calls for repentance from witchcraft, we get a lot of "flames" from Wiccans and Pagans. A typical complaint is to lecture us that "God's love is unconditional", thus justifying witchcraft--or whatever--since "God loves everyone eternally no matter what they believe." By this way of thinking, "It makes no difference which 'god' you worship since God's unconditional love would never allow Him to send anyone to hell. Condemning people to hell is not exactly a loving thing to do for those so sent, is it? So, it does not matter what people think or believe or do. God's unconditional love means that we will all go to heaven."
Hearing this doctrine put forth with such piercing clarity from Pagans should give Christians pause in their enthusiasm to embrace it.
Often, when Christians say unconditional love we know they do not mean it in the exact, literal sense. So, we do not want to go overboard and say that anyone who uses the phrase is a universalist or heretic. We must look to the context and meaning for those who have not thought it through, giving them the benefit of the doubt. But, at the very least, we should be more circumspect about adoption of extra-biblical spurious terminology within the Church, and of teachers that unreflectingly jump on every bandwagon of pop phraseology that blows through.
God's love is truly amazing... God's love is unilateral: He loves the unlovable and gives His glory to them. God's love is completely undeserved. God's love is unfailing for those in whom He delights: who respond to Him and receive His Son. But, God's love is clearly not "unconditional"; for wrath and eternal damnation will come to those who reject His Messiah and His Gospel. Let us be sure to be found in the position of receiving God's love, and not His judgment. Let us heed the conditions clearly set forth by our Lord so that we can be at peace with Him. And let us shout the message of these conditions from the rooftops so that others might be saved, rather than retreat into thinly veiled license, universalism, or anything else that "sets itself up against the knowledge of God" (2Cor 10:5).
Here are a few verses to salt your appetite for researching and considering this further.

Jer. 5:12-13 (NIV) "They have lied about the Lord; they said, 'He will do nothing! No harm will come to us; we will never see sword or famine.' The prophets are but wind and the word is not in them..." Jer. 8:6-9 (NIV) "I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying, 'What have I done?' ...My people do not know the requirements of the Lord. How can you say, 'We are wise...' Since they have rejected the word of the Lord, what kind of wisdom do they have?"
Jer. 23:16-18 (NIV) This is what the Lord Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. They keep saying to those who despise me, 'The Lord says: You will have peace.' And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts they say, 'No harm will come to you.' But which of them has stood in the council of the Lord to see or to hear his word? Who has listened and heard his word?"
Jer. 23:21-22 (NIV) "I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied. But if they had stood in my council, they would have proclaimed my words to my people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds."
Lam 2:14 (NIV) "The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity. The oracles they gave you were false and misleading."
Luke 3:7b (NIV) "You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?"
John 3:36 (NIV) "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him."
Rom 2:5,8 (NIV) But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed... For those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
Eph 2:3 (NIV) All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.
Eph 5:6 (NIV) Let no-one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
1Co 2:13 (NIV) This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words.
2 Tim 4:2-4 (TCN) Proclaim the Message, be ready in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, encourage, never failing to instruct with forbearance. For a time will come when people will not tolerate sound teaching. They will follow their own wishes, and, in their itching for novelty, procure themselves a crowd of teachers. They will turn a deaf ear to the Truth, and give their attention to legends instead.
Heb 13:9 (NIV) Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.
Luke 13:3 (DVP) [Jesus:] "...If you do not repent, then you will all perish..."

"MANURE MINDED OR PONY MINDED"
Message of faith and love: Gerri Merrick ~ December 2013

Several years ago, when I still owned my "horse herd" of five lovely horses, I was enjoying raking out the manure from my horse corral, singing in the spirit and confessing the Word with joy. This was a quiet time and I always found sweet fellowship with the Lord while not being distracted by much of the world clamor and noises.

The Holy Spirit spoke to me and asked an interesting question. "Are you manure minded or pony minded?" I stopped my work, leaning on the rake and stood still to ponder His words. My mind flew back to memories of a Christmas in the long ago past which held some keys to the answer.

When I was only 3 years old and my brother was a wise 5 years old, my parents gave us a very special Christmas gift. Who could imagine the wonder when we came into the living room that Christmas morning so many years ago. Lots of brightly wrapped gifts with colored lights on the tree, tinsel and garlands. Candy and cookies on the side table and my dear vising grandparents with beaming joyful faces.

All of a sudden, the Christmas tree seemed to move! There in all of her glory, stood quietly hidden in the living room corner, was a beautiful live Shetland pony complete with saddle and bridle...waiting for us to love and ride! Our hearts went wild with delight. We named her "Beauty."

This was the fruitful beginning of my passion for horses and burning desire to know about God for myself. Prayers, singing, going to church and school, Bible lessons, along with learning how to care for a pony became my busy young life. My family encouraged me in all of these activities because it was the obedient thing to do in those years just after WWII.

I tried to be a perfect daughter and friend. My family could not have been more kind and gentle. Jesus became my Savior and Lord when I was only 7 which increased my zeal "to do and be good." Only years later, did I learn the power of His Word and how to humbly yield to the Holy Spirit and not depend upon my own "strength, talents and goodness."

In all the years that dear Shetland pony was in our family, I do not remember any "manure." I was the one who led Beauty to the water trough, fed her grain and hay and many snacks since my brother had started school. The family pictures of a small little blonde child leading an "old rescued" shaggy Shetland pony, looking more like a Russian circus bear, brings back a wide variety of memories.

I am amazed at my mother's faith in my safety and God's care. Beauty lived until I was 7 and then as all "older pets" seem to have to leave us, she quietly died early one morning in our large back yard. I was the first person to find her and the death of any beloved pet or person is still painful for me to face. I remember everything about the "Joy of the Pony"...except the "manure." That is not remembered at all.

As years go by with the problems, challenges and pains we all face in our lives, it is a normal human tendency to become more "Manure Minded" than "Pony Minded." Even during the bright joyful traditional season of Christmas, we can find ourselves looking more at the "manure" than at the "Christmas Pony."

Yes, dear Holy Spirit, I had to admit to the fleshly trap of becoming "more manure mind than pony minded" with the cares and burdens of daily life as an adult. Anytime our minds and attention are taken from our focus upon the Word, Faith, and the Face of our Father, peace spreads its wings in flight and we are looking down again at the "manure" of the world, flesh, and the devil. The natural world floods over us again and again with cares and heaviness that strips away the Joy of the Lord, including the "Pony Minded Lesson" of the joyful hope in Jesus our Lord.

So again, I was refreshed in that corral, alone with the Lord and the Holy Spirit being my divine teacher... to Guard the Joy! Maintain the Peace! To let my true love and delight keep faith alive and to never allow a "heavy habit of being good, mixed with cares of this world"....but allow myself to come as a little child with fresh wonder and joy in Jesus over and over..... "Pony Minded" again!

Truly we are in the world, but NOT of it!
REJOICING IN THE LORD ALWAYS!
JESUS IS LORD FOREVER!
