MANURE MINDED OR PONY MINDED

 
Message of faith and love: Gerri Merrick ~ December 2013

Several years ago, when I still owned my "horse herd" of five lovely horses, I was enjoying raking out the manure from my horse corral, singing in the spirit and confessing the Word with joy. This was a quiet time and I always found sweet fellowship with the Lord while not being distracted by much of the world clamor and noises.

The Holy Spirit spoke to me and asked an interesting question. "Are you manure minded or pony minded?" I stopped my work, leaning on the rake and stood still to ponder His words. My mind flew back to memories of a Christmas in the long ago past which held some keys to the answer.

When I was only 3 years old and my brother was a wise 5 years old, my parents gave us a very special Christmas gift. Who could imagine the wonder when we came into the living room that Christmas morning so many years ago. Lots of brightly wrapped gifts with colored lights on the tree, tinsel and garlands. Candy and cookies on the side table and my dear vising grandparents with beaming joyful faces.

All of a sudden, the Christmas tree seemed to move! There in all of her glory, stood quietly hidden in the living room corner, was a beautiful live Shetland pony complete with saddle and bridle...waiting for us to love and ride! Our hearts went wild with delight. We named her "Beauty."

This was the fruitful beginning of my passion for horses and burning desire to know about God for myself. Prayers, singing, going to church and school, Bible lessons, along with learning how to care for a pony became my busy young life. My family encouraged me in all of these activities because it was the obedient thing to do in those years just after WWII. I tried to be a perfect daughter and friend. My family could not have been more kind and gentle. Jesus became my Savior and Lord when I was only 7 which increased my zeal "to do and be good." Only years later, did I learn the power of His Word and how to humbly yield to the Holy Spirit and not depend upon my own "strength, talents and goodness."

In all the years that dear Shetland pony was in our family, I do not remember any "manure." I was the one who led Beauty to the water trough, fed her grain and hay and many snacks since my brother had started school. The family pictures of a small little blonde child leading an "old rescued" shaggy Shetland pony, looking more like a Russian circus bear, brings back a wide variety of memories. I am amazed at my mother's faith in my safety and God's care. Beauty lived until I was 7 and then as all "older pets" seem to have to leave us, she quietly died early one morning in our large back yard. I was the first person to find her and the death of any beloved pet or person is still painful for me to face. I remember everything about the "Joy of the Pony"...except the "manure." That is not remembered at all.

As years go by with the problems, challenges and pains we all face in our lives, it is a normal human tendency to become more "Manure Minded" than "Pony Minded." Even during the bright joyful traditional season of Christmas, we can find ourselves looking more at the "manure" than at the "Christmas Pony."

Yes, dear Holy Spirit, I had to admit to the fleshly trap of becoming "more manure mind than pony minded" with the cares and burdens of daily life as an adult. Anytime our minds and attention are taken from our focus upon the Word, Faith and the Face of our Father, peace spreads its wings in flight and we are looking down again at the "manure" of the world, flesh and the devil. The natural world floods over us again and again with cares and heaviness that strips away the Joy of the Lord, including the "Pony Minded Lesson" of the joyful hope in Jesus our Lord.

So again, I was refreshed in that corral, alone with the Lord and the Holy Spirit being my divine teacher... to Guard the Joy! Maintain the Peace! To let my true love and delight keep faith alive and never allow a "heavy habit of being good, mixed with cares of this world" to rise up....but allow myself to come as a little child with fresh wonder and joy in Jesus over and over..... "Pony Minded" again! Truly we are in the world, but NOT of it!

They will have no words to explain...their speech will turn into "stutterings and stammerings."

Seek Me daily for fresh orders and you will not fail in your special callings and purposes. As you and millions obey the voice of My Spirit...all will fall into Divine Order.

DECEMBER is the "traditional month" to celebrate the Birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. A time to share the Good News of Peace on Earth, good will to men, as God brought forth His Only Begotten Son for the Salvation of all mankind. JESUS the CHRIST CHILD is born!

The lovely month of December seems like a Royal Red month of Joy & Rejoicing...fresh evergreen and holly leaves with gold shining everywhere.

A blessed time to proclaim the Wonder of the Birth of the Christ Child! A time to read again to our children and loved ones...the 'Christmas story" from the Word of God in all of its splendor.

December ushers in the change of seasons...from Autumn to Winter scenes, snow, ice, Joy, holiday songs, choirs, shopping for gifts, lots of special baking and bright gift wrapping with many happy gatherings of Family and Friends.

Radiant faces expecting bright and glittering times to come...a time to remember others and their needs with loving care and gifts of charity.

Also a month to make new life plans with fresh dreams for a New Year ahead.....All for the Glory of God as we seek His Kingdom first and His Righteousness.

A bold month saying farewell to the old year and watching a New Year birthed with Faith in the Faithfulness of GOD and His Agape Love in the world and the nations.....

Let Me Be your Life!

Every Believer in Christ should "covet to prophesy" as the Apostle Paul taught and wrote in the Epistles (Letters)...each Christian...if truly Born-Again and not just "mental assent"... has the Holy Spirit dwelling within and should seek the Baptism in the Holy Spirit with Fire for Supernatural Power to do the work of the ministry of Christ Jesus as He commanded to receive. This will be Divine Works for His Glory and not "filthy rags" of human sweaty flesh efforts....

 
ALL 120 (including Mary, the mother of Jesus) were waiting in obedience and prayer...they were filled/empowered with the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues (other unknown/unlearned languages) on the Day of Pentecost in the Book of Acts.
The "empowered Body of Christ" burst onto the scene with the Gospel of the Risen Lord Jesus and has radiated into all the earth and into the nations through the centuries.
New Testament Prophecy (for Encouragement, Edification & Exhortation) is one of the many Gifts of the Holy Spirit which is part of the "Revelation Gifts" including the Word of Knowledge (knowing something in the present by the Spirit) and the Word of Wisdom (knowing a future event by the Spirit)...every Believer needs to obey and seek GOD for the spiritual gifts in order to be a powerful 
servant of Christ anywhere, anytime, everywhere we are taken in our daily lives...Souls are waiting and dying to hear about JESUS!

EVERY BELIEVER is commanded to "GO YE" and preach/proclaim the GOSPEL!
Posted here again is a serious word/prophecy received from the Lord on March 26, 2013 revealing current and future events, warnings and comfort with encouragement for the Body of Christ.

GOD will always keep His Promises to guide and direct our lives...we must also do our part by responding in obedience with love for HIM.

Men will shake and drop to their knees in terror
and fear as their foundations crumble under them
as in an earthquake.

Many hearts shall stop. Many shall choose death to try
and escape from the things that used to give them pleasure.

I AM THAT I AM.
I shall never change.
Those who choose life and blessings are the ones who choose ME.

The nations shall continue to fester and boil.
No one will have an answer to stop the destruction.
Only turning to Me can be found safety and relief.
The birth pangs have begun...those with My Spirit
shall know what to do, where to go and when to go.

My Kingdom is not of this world.
On the very last day on the earth, I stated this Truth to one who was of the world. (Note: Pontius Pilot asking about "truth")
I have made the seeking of My Kingdom a first priority.
I have said that it is the Father's good pleasure to give you
the Kingdom...righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

The depth of the oceans is not concerned
with the waves crashing upon the shore far above.
Even hard rain is not noticed in the deep of the seas.

Do not let yourself be troubled.
Do not let yourself be afraid.

Let the focus of your life be ME!
Let the peace only I can bring cause quiet strength
and steadiness.

You will look and see...but do not let the things
of this world unsettle your heart and mind and soul.
I AM all that you need.

I AM your total life.and delight.
Nothing shall unsettle you as you stay
fixed in your faith in ME.

Like a young eagle high on a ledge with his parent...
you shall only "watch the valley below..."

Stay close to ME...your Shepherd Savior.

From the Heart: Real Believers in Christ

"Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him." Job 15:13
"Without faith, it is impossible to please Him (God)..." Hebrews 11:6
"He who has seen Me has seen the Father." John 14:9

When we first become Born-Again as Believers in Christ...Jesus as our Savior and Lord...it seems easy to believe, receive and rejoice! We are like new born calves let out of the stalls onto a vast meadow to romp and play each day in the light of our New Life in Christ.

Then comes the time when God must test our faith, to teach and educate our faith. This must happen and it does occur in the life of every Believer. The Father is not harsh or unkind, but He is so astounding in His works, it takes maturing all of our lives in the Faith Walk with Jesus the Word and the Holy Spirit.

As sinful humans born in a fallen world, we must come to learn the many facets of the spiritual realm and who we are as the New Blood Covenant children of God in Christ. Romans 8:28 is a key to this mysterious classroom called life. As we trust our Abba Father to love and care for us, He allows many things to "challenge" our faith...our trust in and of Him.

Faith is a fight! Faith is a battle! There are enemies to our faith in God. This is why we are given the very Armor of Almighty God in Ephesians 6 to "put on"...this is "supernatural prayer armor" and made of "Light." All the various pieces of this armor as written about and described by the Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, was from the Roman battle costume but also fits very well with all other armor in the past centuries even to our modern armies.

So what do we do with this New Life in Christ? How can we take steady giant steps in our faith building upon a solid foundation of faith? My passion as a Christian minister over 30 years and Believer for over 64 years since childhood, has been to know GOD and to teach, guide and lift the Body of Christ to a higher degree of knowing and loving God.

Many Christians just want to play here on the earth but go to Heaven. This life is like a casino game each day! They really don't hate the world and the dull tinsel too much, but they also do not want the "other shoe" to fall or miss out on a Heavenly Eternity. What a Terrible Life!

We are warned about this type of "heart path" and must take time to examine ourselves to see if we are truly "in the faith" as the Bible directs. Playing religious "do good" games with God is dangerous. He has warned about the "great falling away and the lukewarm Christians" being vomited from the mouth of Christ!

Many are called and few are chosen! Wide is the road to destruction and narrow "the Way" to eternal life. I am constantly praying and prodding Believers to get totally serious about their Faith each day! To truly learn how to adore and serve Almighty God as HE desires and has created each Believer to live and give as His holy and royal priesthood! To be caught up with the Holy Spirit and the Fire of God!

What rewards shall be waiting for you from the works of obedient service to God?
How important is Almighty God in your life?
What supernatural signs are following you as a Believer and listed in the New Testament?
How much are emotional "feelings" than true supernatural faith in your life?
What will be your "legacy" as a Believer and disciple of Jesus?
Are the Word of God and the Holy Spirit the true guiding spiritual power in your life... or are you running on highs and lows and "religious experiences with dreams, visions, convention meetings and words from others"?

Everything is not of GOD. Not everything should be shared with others. Many things will not stand the Fire of the Holy Spirit. We must be mature and discern what is "frothy, fluffy and even fleshy." Get past the "feel good, candy coated, warm and fuzzy" level of walking with God.

Does your life reflect the faith needed in a prison or battlefield?
How much Word do you truly know and believe if in a life and death matter?

Millions of Christians are waiting for the "Rapture" to "get out of here" before the "mess of the tribulation begins"......with no real serious thought of what they are to do with their lives as servants in the Body of Christ NOW... by spending time with the Holy Spirit and in the Word of God. Many have become "feel good" Christians who could never lead anyone to Jesus Christ and then teach that new Believer how to become a disciple, cast out demons, lay hands on the sick to recover, work miracles, etc... Or know how to pray with explosive power in their common language OR in tongues (the spiritual languages of the Holy Spirit)

Beloved Believers...as Jesus, His Disciples... and Paul and the others prayed and exhorted so often...take your eternity seriously!
The Cross of Christ is not an "insurance policy!" It cost GOD everything! We owe Him ALL of our LIVES, TIME, TALENTS, TREASURES, TESTIMONIES.

He is Creator and as His creatures...we have no right to ourselves...and in that we can honor Him with our very breath and willpower surrendered at His Throne. This is the key to an Abundant Life from Christ that shall count all through Eternity for His Glory!

Take time to Seek First (His Kingdom, His Rule in your life) and His Righteousness (being right and pure before Him) in Christ. Matthew 6:33
All things shall begin to fall into Divine Order!

KNOW GOD and ENJOY HIM FOREVER!

BECOME ONE WITH THE FATHER!

NOW IS THE DAY OF SALVATION!

NOW IS THE TIME TO COMMIT & OBEY!

GOD IS FAITHFUL IN ALL OF HIS PROMISES  HE IS PERFECT AND ALMIGHTY.  THERE IS NO OTHER POWER INSIDE  OR OUTSIDE OF ALL CREATION THAT CAN CHANGE HIS FAITHFULNESS AND PERFECTION.  HE IS GOOD AND HIS MERCY/LOVE ENDURES FOREVER.  HE IS JUST, MERCIFUL AND ALL LOVING.

GOD IS LOVE.  GOD IS LIGHT. GOD IS THE ALPHA AND OMEGA...THE BEGINNING AND THE END...AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN!  GOD IS ETERNAL AND CAN NEVER FAIL OR CHANGE.

THE TERM "CHRISTIAN"' WAS USED LATER IN THE NEW TESTAMENT...SO BELIEVER AND DISCIPLE IS MORE CORRECT AND  SCRIPTURE TO USE...BOTH NAMES REFER TO "BEING AND DOING" AS FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST...WHICH WAS CALLED PEOPLE OF "THE WAY."

WE CAN CALL GOD OUR FATHER...OUR "ABBA" FATHER..."DADDY!   OH WHAT DIVINE FELLOWSHIP!

First Day of Fall ~ September 22, 2013 

FROM THE HEART:
Just a loving message to share my heart as a Fellow Believer in Jesus Christ...to the Body of Christ and also to those who are seeking and hungering after GOD...to know HIM.
Many people, through the years of my ministry in 57 nations, have asked deep questions with troubled faces and even tears in the eyes.

How can I find and know the Will of GOD?
How do I know the calling upon my life?
Why does it take so long for many to believe in Jesus Christ?
How can I crucify the flesh and walk in the Spirit?
How can I walk by Faith and not live by sight?
How can I grow faster in Christ?
Where do I start to study the Word of God? The Bible is so big...
How do I know the Holy Spirit is speaking and not "just me?"
Can all Believers receive/deliver prophecies?
What about "visions and words from others?"
Why does there seem to be a constant battle in my spirit, soul and body?
How can I stay joyful and worship God?
Why do I not "speak/sing in tongues yet?"
Why did the Apostles and Disciples suffer some lack and also illnesses?
How can I know the difference between spiritual acts & works of flesh?
What is the difference between conviction and condemnation?
Why do I seem to be "stuck" in my spiritual growth?
AND MANY OTHER QUESTIONS FROM THEIR HEARTS.......

As a minister to so many varieties of people, cultures and levels of faith and education, I some times battle feeling overwhelmed with the massive challenge for the Gospel to reach the souls worldwide and also teach others to be disciples of Christ. Then it is time to focus upon God and worship Him allowing His strength to flood into my entire life!
We continue to pray that His Kingdom (His Rule) shall come and His will to be done on the earth as it is in Heaven.

Anyone with a prophet calling/office will truly understand the Holy Zeal inside a "common human being"....and this will drive that Believer in Christ to return again and again for private, focused and concentrated prayer time with the Father. The Lord Jesus gave us His entire life as the example of ministry balanced with prayer/fellowship time with the Father.

With these "From the Heart" messages...I have faith that the Lord will draw those who need the encouragement and instruction as they "go and grow in Christ." There are many nations in my Facebook Group and also on the second page "Rejoice Rally" (started July 11) which is growing for His glory and our good.

PROPHECIES: These are to be received by all Believers because the Holy Spirit indwells every Believer/Christian in Christ. All Believers are to "covet to prophesy" and move in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit which exalt Jesus Christ. "Word of Wisdom" will be about future events, etc. "Word of Knowledge" will be "something known..." All of these can be found in a prophetic message/word.

I have found that there is always an intense interest in "knowing the future." GOD knows the future. And He gives His Church (the Body of Christ) info at times to help us be steady in our faith and daily lives. The devil also uses many ways to attract people who are "hungry to know the future!" These are the fortune tellers, the mystics (Hindu type origins such as Chakras, idolatry, vibrations, meditations, gambling, etc) witchdoctors/witches/witchcraft, horoscopes, etc. who use many devices to catch and trap gullible people who do not choose to seek Jesus and the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Everything must come from GOD to the Believer and be Light and Holy.

For a Christian to "dabble" into these dark and sinful activities is very dangerous and can lead to obsession, oppression, possession of evil spirits/demons just waiting to "devour them" (pulverize and drink them down like a "food/soul processor" in the spirit realm...)

FUTURE EVENTS ARE GIVEN BY GOD ACCORDING TO HIS WILL AND TO BLESS & HELP THE BODY OF CHRIST:
1. To Stand Firm
2. To Do Exploits
3. To Bring Understanding
4. To Endure Suffering
5. To Be Refined
6. To Resist Evil
7. To Find Rest in GOD

Many times when a prophecy is received with troubling future events in the message/word.....it can be "harder to deliver"...but Obedience to the Holy Spirit will keep the door open for God to bring more and more supernatural words, revelations and insights into our lives.  

NOTE: PROPHECIES ARE ALSO GOD'S TOOLS TO WARN UNBELIEVERS....
